Mash is the perfect accompaniment for any meal – especially hearty stews or casseroles.
To make a basic mash, peel 1kg sebago potatoes and cut into quarters.
Boil until tender. Drain. Return to same saucepan. Mash until smooth. Combine 50g butter and 1 cup milk in a saucepan. Stir, without boiling, until hot. Beat into mash in two batches. Season with salt and pepper.
