COLOUR your world
As nature continues to glow with pockets of auburn, russet and copper hues, we start to think about the influence that colour can have on emotional wellbeing. Colour is a form of energy as it is simply light at different wavelengths. These wavelengths can impact our emotions and, interestingly, the warm shades of autumn are all energising colours, which can make us feel full of vitality. Here are some ways to add colour to your life.
USE VISUALISATION
Hold a glass of water and visualise a brightly hued yellow light flowing into it. Yellow is the colour of vitality and clarity and can instantly make us feel good. Drink the water to awaken and inspire your mind.
EMBRACE GREEN
Green symbolises balance, harmony and growth. Add a fresh feel to your home with some scattered potted plants, like English ivy or spider plant, to improve air quality.
TRY CREATING NATURAL ART
Gather some beautiful autumn leaves and press them in a heavy, old book, then display them in pretty glass frames.
GET YOUR GLOW ON
Create a chroma (the Greek word for purity of colour) yoga ambience at home in a darkened room that is lit with a soothing coloured light bulb (soft orange or yellow will help to revitalise and energise you) and then practise a round of sun salutations.
PAINT YOUR FRONT DOOR
Give your front door a bright colour, such as yellow, red or orange. This works as a very powerful welcoming statement that will make you feel happy every time you enter your home.
