Hiring drive for Territory schools
NORTHERN Territory schools welcomed 38 new teachers for the start of Term 3.
More than half of the recruits relocated from interstate, and included recent graduates to those with more than 25 years’ experience.
The new teachers will take positions in Alice (seven), Katherine (five), Darwin (six), and Palmerston and rural regions (11).
NT minister for Education Selena Uibo said having a secure and stable education workforce was a key priority, with extra 178 school based staff employed since Labor came into Government.
“The Territory Labor Government knows teachers are key to achieving generational change and creating brighter futures for all Territorians, which is why we will always invest in education,” she said.
