1.35 metres x 180cm-wide stiff tulle matching thread about 50cm x 10mm-wide elastic

1 Cut fabric widthways into three lengths; 53cm, 45cm, 37cm.

2 Layer three long sides together; cut 15cm-deep zigzags evenly down long side (cutting through all layers). 3 Layer three long un-zigzagged sides together, with longest layer on bottom and shortest layer on top; sew layers together across straight edge 2.5cm from top. Turn top of skirt over along stitching line onto longest layer; stitch into place along bottom edge to form casing for elastic.

4 Using a safety pin attached to elastic, thread elastic through casing; tie ends of elastic together. 2 Carefully pour water over each violet to fill ice-cube tray; push violets down so they are submerged. Freeze until solid.

3 Just before serving, divide lemonade among 12 glasses; add ice cubes.
