Knives must be kept separate from each other and from other cutlery so they don’t become blunt. Keep them in a wooden knife block, magnetic knife rack, or in knife guards or sleeves. Only use knives on chopping boards. Don’t put specialty and wooden-handled knives in the dishwasher; this can dull the blade and ruin the handles.
