THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL SOCIETY

-

Opens APRIL 19

It is 1946 and London-based writer Juliet (Lily James, top right) has received a letter from a mysterious book club started in Guernsey, an island in the English Channel, during the German occupation of WWII. Juliet decides to visit the island and meets the members of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, including the intriguing farmer who wrote the letter. As she begins to write a book about the club and their experiences during the war, what she discovers will change her forever. This story of friendship, courage and the power of books is charming on screen.
