New owners can double dip
RAY and Lyne Bouquet are ready for retirement and selling their Cairns Radiator Service and Northern Exhaust businesses.
Scott MacKee of Biz-Brokers said the couple had operated the radiator firm for 30 years and bought Northern Exhaust in 2006.
“These two complementary businesses have worked side by side for over 30 years and now the current owner wants to retire and hand over his experience, equipment and reputation to a new operator,” he said. “This is a ground-floor opportunity for someone to get off wages and make something of their future.
“The dual income streams complement each other and often result in work booked by one division bringing in extra work for the other division.
“This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded to become selfemployed.
“You don’t have to be a mechanic or a boilermaker but some welding skills and mechanical aptitude will help you get started.
“Ray is happy to provide training to pass on his skills to a new owner to make sure they are successful.”
He said the firm was the exclusive Far North Queensland stockist for ADRAD cooling products.
“Their stock is held on imprest, which means you don’t have to pay for the stock until you use it,” Mr MacKee said.
He said the leased workshops were fully equipped with three four-post hoists, a pipe-bending and flaring machine, three MIG welders, a sandblasting booth and a radiator test tank.
“Plus there are extra work bays for additional storage if clients’ vehicles need to be kept overnight. Also included is the service delivery van for when you need to pick up or drop off parts or customers.
“This business has all the equipment the new owners need to hit the ground running and the owner is willing to train the new owner to make sure he or she knows how it all works.”
Mr MacKee said marketing included two separate websites and a sign-written vehicle.
The asking price is $40,000, plus $30,000 of stock.
