Swans go-to man

-

Tomorrow: Who is No.1 and No.2 on the AFL/NRL list? Join the conversation and let @JGrams23 and @jgerrans know your thoughts Star midfielders are a dime a dozen these days and every quality footy side needs a powerful forward to kick a score. The way Buddy (pictured) has bounced back with more than 70 goals after his mental health battles is nothing short of outstanding. His defensive pressure and tackling is an underrated part of his game and he looks like he has another five or so influential years left in him. The Western Bulldogs coaching staff would have had sleepless nights this week trying to figure out how they are going to try and curb his influence. Most wondered what was going to happen at the Crows when Patrick Dangerfield left but Sloane took his game to a new level. He more than filled the role of Dangerfield and lifted his leadership qualities. Has since been crowned Adelaide’s best and fairest for s most consistent. AFL LIST SO FAR 5. Sam Mitchell — Hawthorn 6. Joel Selwood — Geelong 7. Marcus Bontempelli — Western Bulldogs 8. Cyril Rioli — Hawthorn 9. Josh Kennedy — Sydney 10. Luke Parker — Sydney It’s rare when this bloke is not in the top three. He wasn’t quite as dominant as 2015. Maybe age is getting to him, but he’s still the best competitor around. Is always there to make the last tackle, no matter the mismatch, and it’s rare to see him beaten. The Cowboys are far from a oneman team these days but they couldn’t be scaling the heights they are now without this man at the helm. NRL LIST SO FAR 5. Andrew McCullough — Brisbane 6. James Tedesco — Wests Tigers 7. Cameron Munster — Storm 8. Iosia Soliola — Canberra 9. James Maloney — Sharks 10. Jake Trbojevic — Manly
