I’ve lived here for almost all of my life, for the past 68 years. My parents are from Poland and they migrated straight to Sydney. They came by train to Cairns when I was 18 months old. I love Cairns. It’s the best place in the world. It has friendly people everywhere and it has an international airport so you can go anywhere. I’ve been away on holidays overseas. I’ve been everywhere but there’s no place like Cairns. We have good schools, a good council, the rates are cheap, it’s cheap to live here. I want to die here, it’s so nice. It’s the best climate, the best of everything. I’ve had my shop now for over 45 years. My son helps me there.
