Watch team has right clue

- GRACE MASON

WHEN it comes to fighting back against the bad guys, Woree Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator Alwin Koo knows knowledge is power.

While the popular board game Cluedo is about amassing clues to find a killer, Mr Koo said NHW was more about crime prevention than crime fighting. He said people needed to work together to make their suburbs safer.

“It’s just about being aware and to note there is crime happening in the area and to take steps to secure your property,” he said.

“There is also the NHWQ website where you can join a forum to discuss issues.”

Mr Koo’s Woree group is among 28 in the Far North between Innisfail and Weipa.

Along with sharing information and crime statistics he said they also held community events such as the regular NHW markets. Collect a different Hasbro Mini Board Game each day from participating newsagents for $3.50 with a token from the Cairns Post or Sunday Mail
