BEACHES TO DAINTREE:

-

CALM weather early this week saw plenty of boats fish the Reef again with great numbers of both coral trout and large-mouth nannygai caught. A mixed bag of spangled emperor, smallmouth nannygai, cobia, gold band snapper and cod were also taken. Spanish mackerel have mainly been caught on floated pilchards while bottom fishing. Sharks

Daintree River continue to be problematic stealing many hooked fish. The Cairns Inlet has fired up after the full moon with several barramundi caught on live baits along with mangrove jacks and trevally. The Barra Bash held at Tinaroo Dam over the weekend saw plenty of big barra caught and released along with some quality sooty grunter. Contact: Erskine’s Tackle World, Cairns ph. 4051 6099.
