DAINTREE TO COOKTOWN:

-

CORAL trout have continued to be caught on the inshore reefs along with spanish mackerel, but sharks including tigers have been a major problem. The close inshore rubble patches are also still seeing a few quality large-mouth caught. Barramundi have really fired up in the Endeavour River, with some big fish being caught on live baits in the brackish upper reaches. Fingermark, mangrove jacks and grunter are also being caught in the river. The Cooktown Wharf has fished well on both barra and spanish mackerel, with several quality fish caught.
