Wieland’s high hopes for his talented kids

WOREE trainer and “King of the Kids” Fred Wieland knows a thing or two about preparing a horse for Townsville’s Pallarenda Stakes.

The multiple winner of the $30,000 Two-Year-Old Colts & Geldings and Fillies races at Cluden Park, Wieland sends a starter south for both races this Saturday afternoon.

Wieland has been “King of the Kids’’ at Cluden Park at this time of the year on a number of occasions and believes Our Atom in the Colts & Geldings event can be added to his winners list. one you want to try and win,” Wieland said.

“These are the ones that make a big difference. If you win a race like this first-up, they pay their way for a fair while. I will go down Townsville for it.”

Atherton-based trainer Roy Chillemi has two horses nominated in the Colts & Geldings, Reactant and Studman.

Six races will be contested at Cluden Park tomorrow while five events will be run at Cannon Park.
