Monte’s work is set in ink
AFTER more than 150 hours spent with a tattoo gun drilling into her skin, Cairns girl Monte Cooper reckons she has the right to label herself the “most tattooed porn star in Australia”.
While the title has never been confirmed by any authority, Ms Cooper said she was using her look to “pave the way for Australia in the alternative film industry”. Although born in Townsville, Ms Cooper spent her formative years in the Far North before moving to Sydney to follow her acting dreams at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
While the school is famous for producing actors such as Cate Blanchett, Judy Davis, Mel Gibson, and Hugo Weaving, Ms Cooper’s career took a less mainstream path than that of most graduates.
“I travel nationally on tour probably eight months of the year, and thus far haven’t travelled internationally, but I have filmed for a lot of international websites,” Ms Cooper said. “Around midyear I’m headed overseas to the United States and the UK.”
Ms Cooper was back in Cairns at the weekend to, unsurprisingly, get more tattoos.
She was also keen to see family, which she admitted could be a little awkward due to her profession.
