Boy hit by car

A BOY, 12, was yesterday in hospital after being struck by a car at Brinsmead on Loridan Dr at about 7.45am yesterday. The boy suffered cuts and bruising and was taken to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition. A police spokesman said it was unlikely that any charges would be laid against the driver. A nearby resident, who didn’t want to be named, said he heard a “commotion” coming from outside his house. “I saw a lot of police and heard that a boy had been clipped by a car,” he said.
