BRITAIN’S RED NOSE BROADCAST GIVES LOVE ACTUALLY FANS CHANCE TO CATCH UP WITH OLD MATES

Love Actually fans finally got to see what happened to their favourite characters during Britain’s Red Nose Day broadcast. Actors including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley and Bill Nighy reprised their original roles to raise funds for charity.

LOVE Actually fans finally got to see what happened to their favourite characters during Britain’s Red Nose Day 2017 broadcast.

The classic Richard Curtis film returned for a 10 minute sequel during the annual fundraising event on Friday night, and it didn’t disappoint.

The mini-film opened with Andrew Lincoln’s character Mark knocking on Juliet’s (Keira Knightley) door like in the original, holding his infamous cards.

After asking if his former crush liked his beard – which she didn’t – he reminded her of his plans to marry one of four famous women, including Kate Moss.

To Juliet’s surprise, he held up a sign saying: “Well I did” and to everyone’s surprise, the supermodel appeared looking as stylish as ever. “Meet the wife” said Lincoln’s sign with an arrow, while Moss’ read: “Hi, Nice to meet you”.

The scene then revealed that Juliet was still happily married to husband Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who was inside watching the TV.

Mark then suggested they find out what happened to the rest of their friends, and the footage cut to Hugh Grant, resuming his role as the UK Prime Minister. Instead of dancing to Jump like in the first movie, the star busted out some moves to Drake’s Hotline Bling in one of the funniest moments from the reunion.

Bill Nighy’s character Billy Mack was then seen during a radio interview talking about today’s music, but finally gave an honest answer when asked where his long suffering manager Joe (Gregor Fisher) was.

Billy then revealed Joe had died, after a “big heart attack, big coffin, left a big whole in my heart”.

Colin Firth’s character Jamie was then seen driving his Portuguese wife – and former housekeeper Aurelia (Lucia Moniz) – to pick up their three children. Aurelia then revealed – in Portuguese – that she was pregnant again, leading Jamie to burst into a wide grin.

Another set of characters to get a happy ending were Daniel (Liam Neeson) and his stepson Sam (Thomas Sangster) who reunited on London’s South Bank. Sam came to talk to his stepdad about love, much like the first film, and while Daniel feared Sam was lonely, the reality was much different.

Sam revealed he had reunited with his first love Joanna (Olivia Olson) in New York, and as she walked in to join them, she asked for Daniel’s permission to marry Sam.
