A YARRABAH man who will plead guilty to 15 charges, two of which relate to two pharmacy break-ins, will be sentenced next month.

Joshua Chiculbuarra Barlow targeted the businesses on Friday morning, starting with the Kewarra Beach pharmacy on Cotteslow Drive about 5am.

He smashed several windows but did not gain entry.

The 29-year-old then went to a second pharmacy on Faculty Close at Smithfield, forced entry by smashing the front window and stole a quantity of medication.

Barlow appeared in the Cairns Magistrates Court yesterday morning, when his defence solicitor indicated he would plead guilty.

He was arrested on Monday afternoon over unrelated matters and was charged with one count each of breaking and en- tering premises and stealing and attempted entry to premises with intent.

He was also charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of stealing vehicles stolen from Mooroobool on April 17 and Bayview Heights on May 5, as well as the theft of fuel from a Manoora fuel station on April 2.

The court was told Barlow had been on bail for other charges when these other allged offences were committed.

He is facing 15 charges that Magistrate Robert Spencer said included a “high-level trespass” in which he entered the home of a 91-year-old woman and went to sleep in a bed.

“It must have been terrifying for her,” Mr Spencer said.

The matters were adjourned to June 30.
