Shelley’s date with visionary
CAIRNS businesswoman Shelley Wild has returned from a brain storming session involving one of the world’s most dynamic entrepreneurs Sir Richard Branson and his team.
Mrs Wild was one of 35 entrepreneurs selected to spend five days with each other and Sir Richard at his private retreat, Necker Island, in the British Virgin Islands She said it was “amazing”. Mrs Wild said she was vetted before being selected. Her business PeopleHQ has been working for 12 months on a global edu-tech, which includes an advanced social learning platform and satellite social impact labs.
“I was absolutely thrilled to be a part of this amazing group of entrepreneurs. I felt humbled to be at this game-changing level,” she said.
“I went with a completely open mindset, wanting to test my ideas and knowledge with some global change-agents in the entrepreneurial space.
“The trip exceeded my expectations on so many levels and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities ahead for me, my family and team.”
The opportunities include projects in Singapore, keynote speaking in the US and the UK, philanthropic work in the Caribbean and the development of an app in the US.
“The business opportunities for PeopleHQ have been overwhelming. Some are still bubbling and some are under wraps for a few months but I am bursting with excitement,” she said.
Mrs Wild also spoke to Sir Richard about Cairns.
“I spruiked Yorkey’s Knob kiteboarding (one of Richard Branson’s favourite sports), brought up the environmental management of the Great Barrier Reef and was super excited to talk about the PowerShot App being developed by local young entrepreneurs.”
