Outraged at the Woree bike attack. Cairns is becoming a city known for thieves and thugs. It is not good for residents or tourism. Joanne, Mount Sheridan
Prime Minister now tells us that he’s now aware we have terrorists in our cities. Hello PM we know this, it’s your Ministers that have been in denial. Don, Earlville
Re: Maria Gordonvale (10/06/17). I agree with you wholeheartedly. When Entsch wasted taxpayers money on his Taj
Mahal toilet and when they cut a few dollars off the already overpaid politician’s. He bucked better than a feature horse at the Mareeba rodeo! Icarus, Atherton
Daz, 10/6, I too have worked in coal, we never had run offs, we hobbled our coal to stop it, also, our coal never leaked into any water, was in the middle of nowhere, bit like the mine every “greenie” wants to stop. Bill, Mooroobool
Would extreme-left Geoff of Westcourt please explain how turning ourselves into Veneztralia saves the environment? Scotty, Gordonvale
Whose to say the right mob didn’t do the smoking ceremony. Don, Stratford
Note to all politicians. Penalty rate cuts to create more jobs and make small business more competitive are to be nullified by electricity prices and soon to be hike in water prices. So the price of my coffee will probably not go down on a Sunday and unemployment will remain stagnant at its current level. So the pay cut is just that, a pay cut when wages growth across the board hasn’t risen in 2 years or more. Wonder how many politicians or public servants are willing to take a pay cut to help the economy? Richo, Bentley Park
Curtis, give us a crane, an international passenger loading facility and something that doesn’t involve mining coal then we might pay attention. Steve, Whitfield
$300 for a “welcome to country”. Surely the cash strapped Hospital could have spent this money on patient care not wasted it in this way. What will the “smoking ceremony” cost? Dee Dee, Cairns
In response to Miss T from Tolga’s fake news; China is not building 363 coal power stations — instead China has halted construction of 85 earlier this year in an effort to cut pollution and emissions. Coal is on the way out, which it needs to be, to save the Reef and the planet. Coal is dead. M., Caravonica
