Excursion filled with wonder

I WAS super excited when we got to Fitzroy Iisland. When we got there we did some exploring and then had morning tea at Nudey Beach. The water was beautiful and was crystal clear. On the glass bottom boat we saw some amazing coral and fish.

There was some blue, green, yellow and other different coloured coral. At the turtle hospital, Chloe got a turtle shower. It was hilarious.

There was a poor turtle that had one eye. The turtles had a confined area and it was sad. Most of the turtles were playful and gorgeous. When they came up for a breath, I saw that they didn’t have teeth and I didn’t know that. Also, they have really bad breath. It was the best day in my life for a long time.

ON Friday, grades 2 to 6 went on an amazing trip to Fitzroy Island. We had to wake up at ON May 5, students from Woree State High School’s Year 11-12 chemistry and Year 12 science21 classes were given the opportunity to travel to local Cairns sites as part of an all-day curricular excursion.

Students were required to collect water samples form the Barron River, Lake Placid and 6am. We went on the bus, the boat and the glass bottom boat. My partner was Paige.

I was so excited when I hopped on to the boat. When we went on the glass bottom boat, the coral was stunning. I could have stayed on the glass bottom boat all day long.

FRIDAY was great. You’ll never believe it. We went to Fitzroy Island. The boat we went to the island on was rough.

First we got off the boat and walked to Nudey Beach. We had morning tea.

Then we went on the glass bottom and to the turtle hospital. We would like to thank the Cairns Regional Council for giving us the money to pay for our excursion and Tania for showing us around the turtle hospital.
