4KZ/4AM Trophy Day and 2nd round of the Championships at Royal Millaa Millaa. Winner Alan “Happy” Hapgood with 65 nett and the NTP on 9 and 18. Dave Gibson runner-up with 66. Barb Clifford won the ladies with 75 nett. NTPs: Shane Bradley, Lenny Hanko and Margie A. Paul Foster is B grade and Club Champion. Barb Clifford is ladies C grade and Club Champion. Shaun Darby is men’s C grade Champion. Margie Azar B grade. Don McHardie Senior champion c/b from Keith Dixon. John Reynolds and Barb Clifford won the Quiksilver trophy for best 18 hole nett. The first week of the 2017 Club Championships was played over the weekend. Of particular note was the hole in one by Andrew Grieve on hole 2 on Sunday. The ball pitched next to the hole on a tight pin placement and jumped forward about 60cm before spinning gently back into the cup. Championship Results: A Grade: Trent Mann has a five-shot lead over Andrew Rose with Ross Sheehy another shot back. Andrew Grieve makes up the top four. B Grade: Shane Trembath had two very good rounds to have a five-shot lead over Phil Otto. Paul Tattam is seven behind and Lance Masina eight behind. Shane shot two of his lowest ever rounds to set up his lead. C Grade: David Swaine has a two-shot lead over Luke Peters. Shane Parmenter and Jeff McGrath are four back. Round Three is on this Saturday with a seeded draw so all players must be ready for an 11.30am tee off. The final round on Sunday will be a 10am seeded draw. 17/6 Results: Round 1 saw Shane Trembath win the Presidents Trophy with a 65 nett. Runnerup was Paul Tattam with 66 nett.
