THE Gold Coast Suns were full of Far North talent as they recorded an impressive 82point victory over the Canberra Demons at UNSW Canberra Oval on Sunday in the NEAFL.

Cairns Saints junior Jack Bowes, Timakoi Bowie, Daniel Charlesworth, Caleb Graham and Jacob Heron were all in Suns colours for the huge win.

Aside from the first 10 minutes, the Suns were able to control the game and play their style of footy, enabling them to notch a strong 19.8 (122) to the Demons’ 5.10 (40).

Bowie, Charlesworth and Heron all kicked goals.

Suns coach Steve Daniel was happy with the win, particularly with how their academy players handled the game.

“We had nine academy boys come up and play and we were really happy with a number of them,” Daniel said.

Bowes was named in the Gold Coast Suns best as he tries to force his way back into their AFL side before they tackle the Western Bulldogs in Cairns next month.
