On other matters
I wonder when these Islamic cretins will realise that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. GW Brooks, Manunda
I agree with Charlie, Bentley Park. It is a sad reflection on Cairns how our local paper can only print a story about how much money the military will bring into the area not about the joy of the military having the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful part of the world. Ruth, Trinity Park
With so much being said about public and non-public schools there would be without a doubt more millionaires and billionaires whose children attend public schools for a free education. Nothing debated about this. Maybe in this century we need education to be “means tested” as should be with public health. Carolyn, Mt Sheridan
Excellent that the criminal immigrant-supporting AAT has been partially purged (CP 29/6) but it would be better to legislate so Marxist bureaucrats can’t impose their own rule-bending interpretations. Mic, Cairns
So no one remembers the “Crown of Thorns Starfish” which held everybody’s attention for 45 years, as the culprit that was eating our reef faster than it could grow and multiplying faster than we could kill them, nothing to do with coal at all. So if the Greens now state it was never the starfish, it was coal, please bring the fairies to tell us the truth. Robert, Earlville
Well done Turnbull Government finally showing some backbone and protecting Australia but why is the story tucked away on page 16, should have been page 2 or 3! Beth, Kanimbla
How disgusting that the magistrate let those 3 thugs out! What message does that send?! I’ve lost friends and family and haven’t gone out and bashed police — this is a terrible disgrace! LJ, Caravonica
Julian Tomlinson’s editorial ‘An attack on our way of life’ is scary, in part because of its accuracy, but more so because so many people believe this insidious ideology. Peter, Redlynch
Julian Tomlinson (CP29/6). Your role as journalist does not include advising people how to vote. JK, Yorkeys Knob
Why Dee of Cairns 29.06.17 would support geologist Ian Plimer over hundreds of thousands of qualified climate scientists on climate change is beyond me. Plimer may be a minerals expert, but on climate science, he is unqualified and inexperienced. Terry, Kanimbla
