Take off to great heights Outstanding three-level site at airport up for lease
CAIRNS Airport’s prominent Tom McDonald Building has been made available for lease.
Airport management is also seeking tenants for another property on Mick Borzi Dr, known as the Assets Building.
Set over three levels between the international and domestic terminals, the Tom McDonald Building has a total lettable area of 1105sq m.
“The offices have a quality fitout throughout which includes a number of boardrooms and offices as well as a number of amenities and open-plan areas,” said leasing agent Rob Macfarlane of Knight Frank Cairns.
“The building has plenty of natural light and a spectacular view of the airport precinct.
“The Tom McDonald Building comes with a number of on-site parks directly out the front of the property.”
The employees who occupy the building, named after a former jewellery shop owner who pioneered Cairns’ aviation industry, will be relocated to the airport’s “underused” administration centre.
The smaller, single-level property on Mick Borzi Dr has a lettable area of 370sq m, 12 on-site car parks and “excellent exposure”.
“Both properties would suit all airport-related businesses and companies that require a presence at Cairns Airport,” Mr Macfarlane said.
The new leasing opportunities come as the airport undergoes a restructure of staffing and its assets.
“We’re also bringing together previously separate parts of the business to enable them to collaborate more effectively,” said chief executive Norris Carter.
“This creates new leasing opportunities for businesses who would like to take advantage of an airport location.
“The Tom McDonald Building, the Cairns Airport Assets Building and some strategically located buildings offering airside/landside access will become available.
“Cairns Airport’s strategy includes making sure our terminals meet passengers’ needs, attracting new international aviation services and working with all our airport tenants, including the general aviation sector, to help them be as successful as possible.”
Expressions of interest close 5pm Friday, August 11.
