Friends in shock at death of mate
Innisfail crash claims life of passionate outdoorsman Bradley Spiller
AN Edmonton man killed in a crash near Innisfail is being remembered as a great mate and a passionate outdoorsman.
Bradley Spiller, 27, was seriously injured when his Holden Commodore collided with two other vehicles at roadworks near Eubenangee on Saturday night.
He was transported to Innisfail Hospital, but was declared dead a short time later.
Mr Spiller was understood to be on his way home from a family event when the crash took place about 10pm.
Friends have taken to social media to express their heartache over his death and pay tribute to the car enthusiast and dedicated fisherman.
“Rip bro you will be sadly missed ... like another brother to me bro I still cant believe it ... I’ll never forget you bro, I’ll see you on the other side brother,” one friend posted on Facebook.
Another added: “Rip Bradley Spiller you always had me laughing, such a nice guy, I’m still in shock. You will be missed.”
No one else was seriously injured in the three-vehicle crash.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
Forensic Crash Unit SenConstable Lee Chamberlain said police were looking at a number of possible factors, including speeding and intoxication.
He said he was also liaising with Workplace Health and Safety regarding signs at the roadworks.
Mr Spiller is the 12th person to die on Far North roads within 12 weeks in a horror run for the region.
It comes just a month after three men from Vanuatu were also killed on the Bruce Highway when their mini-van ploughed into a semi-trailer at El Arish.
Police are continuing to call for witnesses to the crash south of Innisfail.
