Busby Marou set to open for Elton
BIG DEAL: Australian duo Busby Marou, Thomas Busby and Jeremy Marou, has just been confirmed as the opening act for Elton John’s concert to be held at Cazalys Stadium in September. BUSBY Marou has secured a once in a lifetime opportunity to open for Elton John at Cazalys Stadium in September.
Elton fans spent the weeks leading up to the announcement betting on The Killers and John Farnham taking the stage, but were just as enthusiastic about the announcement of the Queensland duo.
The roots act announced the exciting news yesterday morning.
Thomas Busby, one half of Busby Marou, said it was a huge opportunity for the independent regional musicians.
“I’m in the Queensland duo that are very, very fortunate to be supporting Elton John around the country,” he said.
“It’s crazy, absolutely.”
He said both himself and Jeremy Marou were already planning their set for the opening act.
“It’s going to be an outstanding show,” he said.
Chugg Entertainment executive chairman Michael Chugg said the Queensland act was a huge drawcard to get crowds in early.
“These are big concerts with huge attendances. We need people to arrive early and Busby Marou are the perfect reason why people will,” he said.
“Their set, as the sun goes down and evening sets in, will be the perfect foray into a night of truly once-in- a-lifetime entertainment.”
Another round of tickets has been opened to the public for the Once In A Lifetime tour.
The TripleM Clubhouse tickets are $179 and include a souvenir ticket, collector’s Tshirt, free drink and snacks on arrival and pre-show access to the Triple M Clubhouse.
The tickets to Elton John’s first ever Cairns performance on September 30 are available from www.eltonnthqld.moshtix.com.au.
