1: $30M CBD Cam­pus A per­ma­nent cam­pus for 2500plus stu­dents. The new cam­pus will de­liver an ex­panded range of train­ing, ed­u­ca­tion and re­search of­fer­ings that will di­ver­sify and grow the lo­cal econ­omy and skilled work­force, while stim­u­lat­ing greater in­ter­na­tional stu­dent num­bers. 2: $16M Avi­a­tion Hub A state-of-the-art Avi­a­tion and En­gi­neer­ing Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence to be built at Cairns In­ter­na­tional Air­port. The cen­tre will be run by lead­ing in­dus­try ex­perts us­ing the lat­est sim­u­la­tion tech­nol­ogy. 3: $1.2M First Peo­ple’s Think Tank & Re­search Cen­tre For indige­nous peo­ple to pro­mote ev­i­dence-based and co­or­di­nated de­liv­ery of ed­u­ca­tion, re­search and de­vel­op­ment ac­tiv­i­ties that re­spond to the needs of their com­mu­ni­ties. 4: $2.5M Cre­ative & Per­form­ing Arts Precinct En­com­pass­ing a 150-seat fa­cil­ity and state-of-the-art dig­i­tal me­dia labs and stu­dios. CQU will also de­liver dig­i­tal me­dia and pro­duc­tion cour­ses. 5: $2.5M Re­search Ex­ten­sion For Cairns-based re­search that is al­ready de­liv­er­ing re­sults in indige­nous health and ed­u­ca­tion and re­gional tourism and eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment. 6: $2.5M Pro­fes­sional Sports Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence Will be em­bed­ded within the Cairns Taipans and based within the Cairns Bas­ket­ball Sta­dium com­plex. It will be one of the only ed­u­ca­tional qual­i­fi­ca­tions of its kind in Aus­tralia with stu­dents and re­searchers work­ing with pro­fes­sional ath­letes, coaches and sports ad­min­is­tra­tors in sports science, man­age­ment and mar­ket­ing. The fa­cil­ity will in­clude pur­pose-built biome­chan­ics, per­for­mance anal­y­sis and skill ac­qui­si­tion lab­o­ra­to­ries as well as ath­lete re­cov­ery fa­cil­i­ties.
