Why isn’t Cairns on board?

-

How is it possible that little brother Port Douglas can have a shuttle bus service which is flexible and greatly used by both tourists and locals but here it is beyond Cairns Regional Council

Perhaps if they had not spent $6 million last year to buy the Courthouse Hotel and leave it empty, they would have been able to help tourists and reduce the parking mess in the CBD. Sean McGinn, Clifton Beach Relay For Life on the weekend.

More than $199,000 was raised by 107 teams and 1241 participants who walked throughout the night in an effort to make a difference in the fight against cancer. An incredible effort by all.

The success would not have been possible without the spirit, determination, an enthusiasm of our local volunteers, who gave their time to champion our cause to the community.

In Far North Queensland alone more than 1430 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Relay For Life enables us to support those people.

To the Cairns Relay For Life committee, volunteers, participants, sponsors and all who donated generously we express our heartfelt thanks.

Because of relay we are one step closer to a cancer-free future.

If you or a loved one needs help following or during a cancer diagnosis, call 13 11 20 or visit www.cancerqld.org.au.

Donations to relay can still be made at www.relayforlife.org.au. Chris McMillan, CEO, Cancer Council Queensland Why were the apologies over the loudspeakers only in English?

After seeing the efficient airports throughout Asia, Australian airports seem a little third world. Rosalind Gosling, Victoria
