Unpredictability is the only NRL certainty
ANYONE who jumped on high-risk high-reward POD options last round was severely disappointed.
It just goes to show even come Round 24, SuperCoach is just as unpredictable as it was earlier in the season.
Mitchell Moses was a total flop against a resurgent Knights, Ben Hunt was barely spotted against the Sharks and Billy Slater didn’t produce the scores he has lately, although you can forgive him in the conditions Storm and Roosters players faced last weekend.
I bang on about PODs every week, but I had the 14th most popular captain this week and did he do wonders or what.
I survived three elimination finals thanks to Warriors lock Simon Mannering, who scored 89 points after updates, although I was worried when only 61 showed up during live scoring. He has never failed me and helped me to 1154 points.
In the Cairns Crusaders league, Gibby’s Boys and coach Kieren Gibbs said goodbye to the finals to the tune of 200 points. Sorry Gibbsy.
I’ll be up against a plucky opponent from Atherton, James Jackson and ‘Up The Chook Pen’ in Week 2 after his narrow loss to Sangamstyle.
The winner will meet Cairns challenger Gavin Stoter in the preliminary final after he churned out 1157 points.
At least one of us will make the decider and the winner will be made to earn it against a SuperCoach expert.
