-

FROM engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faires enable DIY inventors and ‘makers’ to showcase their creativity and resourcefulness. Held regularly, they have become a huge and global phenomenon and have inspired millions of attendees to get into the maker spirit. The World Maker Faire 2017 will be held next month at the New York Hall of Science in Queens, New York with more than 750 people expected to showcase their inventions and conduct DIY workshops. HEAVY Meta is a 10 metre long hand-made mobile dragon built atop a bus. The terrifying beast shoots fireballs from the tail and animatronic mouth and was crafted by a group of makers from Toronto, Canada who range from high school students doing work experience to professional metalworkers and engineers. It is currently appearing at art events, concerts, and music festivals all over North America and will be a highlight at this year’s World Maker Faire.
