Teams make most of home court advantage

-

CAIRNS Netball were lucky enough to play hosts to the Nissan Queensland Cup over the weekend.

We had teams in the 16s, 18s, Opens and Masters 35+ age groups.

Overall our teams did extremely well, with all coming within the top 10 teams out of the state.

Our 16s placed fifth but only narrowly lost by five goals against Sunshine Coast, who ended up being the winners of the 16 years division.

Our 18s placed 10th, our Open A team placed second – losing by only four goals to Pine Rivers, who took out their division. Opens B team placed fifth overall. And our Masters 35+ team went through the entire tournament undefeated.

It was a wonderful event to host, to be able to see some spectacular displays of netball and for our teams to have the home court advantage – and it certainly showed in our results.

A huge thank you to all those people who helped suppay port our Cairns Pythons teams, especially to all the officials.

As our season starts to draw to a close, we can’t forget to thank all those who have been involved.

Our Cairns Netball presentation night is on Saturday, August 26, at Cazalys Cairns.

Tickets can be bought from control.

Cairns Netball finals just around the corner.
