The former Marlin, playing in the QBL semi-final against Mackay, dropped 29 points on 12-19 shooting, as well as eight rebounds, nine assists, five steals and two blocks in a gallant effort.

The Rockets led early on as they went into quarter-time with a five-point advantage before they were overrun by the powerful Mackay Meteors side.

■ TAIPANS pair Cameron Gliddon and Mitch McCarron did the green and gold proud at the FIBA Asia Cup.

The Aussies took home the gold and the Snakes duo put up great numbers.

On debut, McCarron was a standout, averaging almost 10 points a night in just 19 minutes on the floor.

The athletic shooting guard also grabbed four rebounds a game as well as shooting at 62 per cent from the field. Meanwhile, despite missing one game with a foot concern, Snakes skipper Gliddon was his consistent self.

The 28-year-old contributed six points, three rebounds and just over an assist a game.
