That’s a question been asking ourselves.
Cairns has some exciting years ahead with major developments underway and many in the wings.
As one of the custodians of Cairns business interests, we want to see everyone benefit.
Be it directly or indirectly, there are fruits blossoming on the tree now.
But what is our role and the role of other groups in promoting the benefits of future growth to our members and to is the role Chamber of of the Commerce? we’ve NICK LOUKAS the wider business community?
I’m genuinely excited about the next five years, however, there’s lots of work to be done.
The Cairns Chamber of Commerce aims to strengthen the connection with other groups that are also advocating for our region.
It’s important to work to- gether with a common message to create a louder voice.
There’s no room for the politics of personalities derailing the push for a better outcome for Cairns.
One of the community leaders in Cairns said to me recently that “we need to work in harmony” – and I couldn’t agree more.
A new set of strategic priorities for the chamber highlights the need for advocacy and that we should be bold with our ideas.
Be it a permanent food market in the city or a new car park in the CBD, we’ll be igniting discussions with all parties.
We’ll be working diligently to foster a clearer common message to advocate.
To achieve a better outcome in Brisbane, Canberra and anywhere else where the bureaucrats make decisions we must be louder.
This can’t be achieved without us all working together without special interests and selfish intent.
So let’s all work together for Cairns and the region.
