Eyebrows look to round off the face
CRAZY eyebrow trends are coming at us left, right and centre with shockers like braided brows and wavy brows sweeping Instagram and Twitter.
Despite the viral nature of these creative, albeit highly unusual, eyebrow designs Koko Lashes & Brows Cairns manager Samantha Jennings told Well & Good she didn’t think the trends would last.
“I hope they don’t catch on. It’s definitely interesting but I hope it doesn’t catch on,” she said.
“More so now people are more obsessed with brows and people do want a defined brow.
“I feel like it finishes the face even when there’s no makeup on. Having a nice defined brow finishes the look.”
She said people mostly came into the Lake St salon wanting advice on how to maintain their brows.
“People come in and want knowledge. They want to know what’s the best shape for them, what’s going to be easy to maintain for them and shaping them for their face shape,” she said.
“The most popular look is the fuller brow, but a lot of our older clients don’t want a fuller brow, so we still keep them nice and thick but not as full as for someone in their 20s.
“A tint gives a nice defined brow without being too intense. We keep it pretty nice and natural.”
She said men were coming in more often.
“A lot of guys do come in, they’re coming out of that idea that brows are only for girls. I tell guys to stay outside of their natural brow shape,” she said.
“If they do get little strays in the middle, take them out with tweezers. Anything underneath the brow is fine to pluck too.”
She said her prediction for summer’s brow trends was a move back to natural looks with less product and just a light powder to fill in gaps.
A LOT OF GUYS DO COME IN, THEY’RE COMING OUT OF THAT IDEA THAT BROWS ARE ONLY FOR GIRLS. I TELL GUYS TO STAY OUTSIDE OF THEIR NATURAL BROW SHAPE.
