NEW BELLADIVA FACE COMES HOME WITH A SONG IN HER HEART

- Tickets to the Cairns show are available online from Ticketlink or by calling 1300 855 835.

MOSSMAN-BORN songstress Samantha Paterson is heading home to perform with operatic quartet Belladiva across the Far North.

She recently joined the group, which puts a glamorous spin on opera classics.

She says she is delighted to be able to head back to her Far Northern home town to perform in front of her friends and family, making it the best part of the tour.

“I think I’m most excited to visit my home towns of Port Douglas and Mossman, and have my father and first music teacher see the show,” she says.

“It’s been 10 years this year since I moved away from North Queensland, so it’s a really exciting feeling to be going back.

“When I left, I was mainly an instrumentalist who had only done a few singing lessons with my music teacher, so coming back here to perform as a trained, accomplished singer is very new and different. It’ll be amazing to connect with some music contacts from around the FNQ community, from old Eisteddfod competition buddies to fellow exam takers to long-lost and well-loved teachers.”

She says making the move into Belladiva has been a transformative experience.

“I love performing with Belladiva. It’s a group that really embodies all my favourite elements of performing — beautiful harmonies, original arrangements, talented singers, and hard workers,” she says.

Belladiva will perform at The Clink Theatre tomorrow, Desinty Hall in Atherton on Saturday and at the Cairns Choral Society Hall on Monday September 11.
