MURRAY RAMPS UP WHOLE RELATIONSH­IP WITH MUSIC

CROONER Pete Murray will take on the Tanks Arts Centre tomorrow when he stops into Cairns for his Camacho Tour.

He says the new single from his sixth record explores his next steps as a career musician and where his love affair with music will take him.

“It’s emotive, moody, sexual and vulnerable and will probably increase the population of this country.”

The laid-back songwriter wanted to kick things up a gear with the new track, drawing on inspiratio­n from other Australian musicians.

He worked with hip hop producer Trials from AB Original to ramp up the first single from the new album with intense drums and back beats.

“The thing I wanted to do different with this album was to take my time and get it right,” he says.

“So many times in the past I have jumped into a studio for four or six weeks and recorded an album.

“Once the recording time is over, so is the album.”

Murray kicked off the tour in Lismore, NSW in July and has been on the road ever since with

Murray will play the Tanks Arts Centre tomorrow in an over 18 event before heading off to Darwin for the last date of his Camacho Tour before 2018.

He is being supported by alternativ­e Melbourne singersong­writer Ben Wright Smith, known for working with Ali Barter and his album
