ADAMS TO GIVE CLASSICS HER OWN PERSONAL STAMP

- DANAELLA WIVELL Louise Adams will perform at BAR36 tonight at 8pm.

LOUISE Adams is giving classics her own spin on stage as she works with producers to refine her originals ahead of her one-night-only show tonight.

The songstress is perhaps best known for being the 2015

runner-up, but now she’s forging her own path with her own unique sound.

“I’ve been a busy bee over the last 10 months. I’ve been in pure songwriting mode,” she says.

“I have phases where it feels like the songs are just flowing so I have to make sure I’m near a guitar or a piano to get it all out.”

The blues enthusiast says she’s drawing inspiration from iconic songs like and She says she’s excited to move her music in new directions as she meets producers for her next album.

“I’ve been courting producers — that’s how I like to look at it — to work with for a new album,” she says.

“It’s a big part for me because I’ve been really excited about my music, so it’s about finding the right person for me – I’m relatively ambitious.

“I’m actually meeting with Mark Myers in Cairns while I’m there.”

She says anyone who can’t make it down to tonight’s show at BAR36 can catch her this morning at Fogarty Park for the R U OK? Rocks Cairns concert.

“I live in a regional area, too, and these towns and regional cities definitely see a lack of services,” she says.

“Mental health is something that everyone in regional towns can be touched by.”
