On other matters

Channel 9 should be ashamed of their Rugby League Grand Final coverage. They have spoken about the same things all day. Channel 7’s coverage of the AFL Grand Final was outstanding. And I am a Rugby League tragic.

In summary; a repeat teen offender who caused 19,000 in damage, only has to pay back 600. Is anyone out there looking out for the fed up, law-abiding taxpayers who fund this rubbish?

Joanne, Mount Sheridan

Pg 11 CP 30 /9 says repeat offender has to pay restitution of 600 … on damages of 19,000. And he’ll be out in 6 weeks so where is the fairness and equity in the “justice“system today?

Toby, Edge Hill

Coal-power emissions are CO2 and H2O, food and drink for plants but apparently that’s bad. The new windmills will kill thousands of bats, but “environmentalists” aren’t bothered because its “green energy”. Bats will die so greenies can sleep in airconditioning. Times sure do change.

Miss T, Tolga

Hey Hopeitswindy CP 30/9 if coal is so last century how come progressive countries like Japan, China, Germany are building coal-fire power stations.

Richard, Edmonton

Had a hearty laugh when I read Anne of 4810 text in TB 30/9/17, tourist numbers in Cairns bout 6 times that of Tville n most are swimming in salt water on Great Barrier Reef n not in one rock pool.

Wassa, 4850

Elena chips in 2 create a flap at feeding time but it’s strictly 4 the birds so feed ur hot chips 2 the seagulls along the Cairns Esplanade.

Steve Dickson would make a better Premier than Tim Nicholls. Please Qld voters don’t make the same mistake as in 2012. Another 4 years of a LNP State Government can hurt our economy like the Newman Government did.
