TELEVISION and comedy superstars Tom Gleeson and Peter Helliar will fill the Tanks Arts Centre with laughs when they head north next Sunday.

The comedy comrades are teaming up for two 40-minute sets which are guaranteed to leave audiences in stitches.

Gleeson said the Far North was the perfect destination for the duo as it combined their two favourite pastimes.

“Pete and I have a reputation for being talented standups,” he said.

“Another special interest we have is drinking beer next to pools. We feel FNQ is the perfect place to combine our interests. We can’t wait.”

Helliar said the decision to travel to the Far North was simple.

“When Tom sent me a text message that simply read ‘FarNQ?’ I completely misunderstood and replied with a barrage of abuse. It caused a rift in our long friendship,” he said.

“Now, that I understand what he meant, I am looking forward to treading the boards and drinking beer by pools with him in FNQ.”

The duo will head up to Port Douglas on Saturday to perform Peter Helliar and Tom Gleeson Live before travelling back to Cairns on Sunday.

Doors for the show at Tank 5 at 5.30pm on Sunday, October 15. Tickets are $56 and are available from Ticketlink online or by calling 1300 855 835. POLICE have arrested a 72year-old Bentley Park man for alleged child pornography crimes after raiding his home.
