Results 9/10/2017 Mossman Golf Club’s October Tuesday Monthly Medal Competition was won by John Norris with 68 nett. Scott Karpathy was in 2nd with 69 nett and in 3rd was Jim Geddes with 70 nett. NTPs – David Heron on 6, John Norris on 8, John Cameron on 10, Wayne Christensen on 13 and John Norris on 17. Wednesday’s Nine-Hole Stableford Event was won by Bob Laybutt with 20 points. NTP – Ron Smith. Thursday’s Ladies October Monthly Medal Event was won by Gayle Healey with 74 nett, in 2nd was Treveen Page with 75 nett and Glenda Christensen was 3rd with 77 nett. NTPs – Gayle Healey on 8, Glenda Christensen on 10, Ellen Clark on 13 and Glenda Christensen on 17. Thursday Medals Of Medals was won by Glenda Christensen. Friday’s nine-hole Mossman Golf Club Chook Run was won by Scott Karpathy with 23 points. NTPs –Elijah Boon on 10, Damien Pitcher on 13 and Casey Dunne on 17. Saturday’s Men’s October Monthly Medal Event was won by Bruce Cheesman with 68 nett ahead of Dan Hober with 69 nett. A Grade – Charlie Kadic 71 nett, B Grade – Ed Sant 72 nett, C Grade – Stephen Lyons 70 nett NTPs – John Graham on 6, Duncan Cunningham-Reid on 8, Wayne Baxter on 10, Daniel Hober on 13 and Jimmy Serave on 17. Saturday’s Ladies October Monthly Medal Event was won by Lisa Smith with 73 nett. In 2nd was Julie Jorgensen with 74 nett and in 3rd Robyn Fleming with 75 nett. NTPs – Pris Freeman on 8, Jo Constantine on 13 and 17. Saturday Medals Of Medals was won by Lisa Smith. JUNIORS – Free beginners’ clinics each Tuesday 5-6pm for youngsters aged 6-17 years. Congratulations to Wade Duncan and Nick Scommazon for competing in the Gary Player Tournament, held at the Pacific Golf Club in Brisbane on September 19-22. Couper Smith also attended the Hill’s Golf Academy for a three-day Golf Camp and twoday Hill’s Junior Classic held from September 23–27. Couper enjoyed the camp and played well in the tournament, coming Under 14 Nett R/Up. Well done to all our juniors who competed in the Half Moon Bay, Tully, El Arish, Cardwell and Cairns Golf Club Junior 9 and 6 Hole competitions over the school holidays.

Millaa Millaa certainly showcased their course for the third and final round of the Tableland Challenge on Sunday, with over 30 teams from Millaa Millaa, Ravenshoe and Mount Garnet competing. Overall winners of the day were Mick Buckley and Dawn Irvine from Mount Garnet with 59.25. Millaa winners – S. Bradley and J. Scott 59.75, 2nd L. Hankinson and P. Foster 60, 3rd Happy Hapgood (apparently he got an NTP as well) and W. Crowley 601/2. Ravenshoe – Danny and young Luke Bradley 59.75, 2nd D. Hyde and W. Howarth 64.50 and 3rd T. Wright and J. Robinson 66. Mount Garnet winners – M. Buckley and D. Frazer 59.25, Alan Bull and D. Nasser 62. NTPs – D & L. Bradley, Mick and Dawn, K. Wilcox and Happy apparently got the one on #9/18. Longest drives – Men’s D. Bradley and Ladies’ A. English – her first one went through the green! Taking the Challenge Shield back, after two years, for 2017 were Millaa Millaa, who trumped the field with 959.50, 2nd Mt Garnet 962.50 and 3rd Ravenshoe 992.50. This Wednesday is the weekly Chook Comp teeing off at 8am. Sunday’s competition is the October Monthly Medal. Registrations from 8.45am for a 9.30am tee off. The grand finalists for 2017 were Millaa Millaa with 959.50, 2nd Mt Garnet 962.50 & 3rd Ravenshoe 992.50. Next week is Malanda Caltex trophy day stroke event.
