On new mozzie trap

-

Big buzz for killer bug trap. So please get rid of the mozzies by using a Larvae-Tar trap. Janelle, Woree I can’t say if the Larvae-Tar trap works, as I haven’t tried it, but hats off to Michael Sparks for his ingenuity. His simple idea could help eradicate this scourge in our community and possibly further afield in a chemical-free and safe manner. Bitten, Trinity Beach John McCain takes a swipe at Trump about not going to Vietnam because Trump said he was not a war hero as he was a shot down pilot, held captive by Vietcong for five years. Mr McCain must have forgot it was the Republican President Gerald Ford who brought US soldiers home in 1975. Shane, Kanimbla Does the Turnbull government hate Australia? No? Then why is he putting the hideous Adani on to all Australians and paying this company handsomely to ruin our nation? David Clapham, Woree For the first time in years my dogs did not let Ergon in to read the meter. Then I was told on the phone it would cost me $43 for them to come back and read it. How rude when they charge you an arm and a leg as it is. Shaz, Manoora The climate change deniers will be disappointed to learn climate scientist Richard Muller has now accepted man-made carbon dioxide is causing global warming. A big blow to the flat earth society scribes that quote his name with their misinformation. Progressive, Cairns “Law soft on child death threats” (CP, 25/10). Thirteen-year-old, while on bail, charged with burglary, stealing, assault, threatening with a knife, placed on probation with no conviction recorded. Judge Julie Dick said “A lot of charges, but all petty” and “My hands are tied by Youth Justice Act”. This says it all. Here lies our problem. Don, Earlville Well said, Denis (letters, 25/10). It is bizarre that the CEO of a regional public health board gets paid more than the prime minister. Such positions should be voluntary. Board members should be drawn from the community by sortition (like juries) and be reimbursed for costs only. That would eliminate most of the present waste. Higgs, Tolga I’m no fan of New Zealand, but they are so far ahead of Australia when it comes to a political voice for their indigenous people. They have so many Maori MPs it puts Australia to shame. Little bro showing big bro how to implement real change for disadvantaged minority. Moa Dan, Gordonvale
