WHAT THEY SAID AT CANNON PARK

-

Race 1 — QTIS 3-Y-O Benchmark 60 Handicap (1250m) Fine ’n’ Devine Trainer Rhonda Inglis and jockey Wanderson D’Avila “She did it pretty easy. I was sitting behind the leader just stalking then she hit the top of the straight and went from there. I think she will win another race,” D’Avila said. Race 2 — Class 6 Plate (1250m) Hitch ’Em Up Trainer Stephen Massingham and jockey Justin Stanley “He would be close to careerbest form, the horse is flying. He can come from behind but his last three he has led and won, the horse is going real good,” Massingham said. Race 3 — Open Handicap (950m) Concluder Trainer Roy Chillemi and jockey Wanderson D’Avila “Wanderson rated him nice in front but Concluder does not have to lead. He has still got some improvement in him, I would not be surprised if he improved a few more lengths next campaign,” Chillemi said. Race 4 — Class 3 Plate (950m) Kahuna Trainer Nippy Seymour and jockey Ngarie Nelson “I thought she was all over at the 150m mark but it was a great win. Ngarie rode him well and it makes it worth the drive from Mackay to get a winner,” Seymour said. Race 5 — 0 — 60 Handicap (1250m) Oakfield Avenger Trainer Greg Strickland and jockey David Simmons “That was a great win, he really loves Cairns. David rode him to perfection and that was the first time he had been on. He is a smart horse,” owner Mark Spagnolo said. Race 6 — Benchmark 65 Handicap (1500m) Union Jukebox Trainer Roy Chillemi and jockey Wanderson D’Avila “I got to the front pretty easy and when I got to the 800m I felt like he had still had a full tank left. I let him travel by himself and when he got to the top of the straight, I let him go,” D’Avila said.
