Rose prickly over marriage comments

- SORAIYA FUDA

IT appears the same-sex marriage vote may already be causing relationship trouble already between one of Australia’s most successful music acts and Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose.

The high-profile actor and model has had a dig at her Veronicas star girlfriend Jessica Origliasso’s twin sister, Lisa, suggesting the latter didn’t support their lesbian relationship.

The 31-year-old star posted a message on Twitter following the announcement of Wednesday’s postal plebiscite result with a blunt message to the pop singer.

Rose claimed that Lisa, 32, told them that they were “lucky they don’t get stoned to death like they do in other countries” in the past.

The barb followed an Instagram post from the pop duo’s account earlier this week, announcing that they would be postponing all further music releases until 2018 due to “personal circumstances out of our control”.

Lisa is engaged to her longterm man Logan Huffman, which she announced in January.

“So glad to see Lisa Origliasso screaming in excitement about the yes vote after telling us she thinks we should feel ‘lucky’ we don’t get stoned to death like they do in other countries and to get over it a few months ago,” Rose wrote on Twitter on Wednesday before adding “Really warms my heart” with an eye-roll emoji.

The tweet has since been deleted, following a wave of criticism online.

Rose then repeatedly tweeted her thanks on the survey’s positive results.

“Now that we jeopardised the health and wellbeing of my community by subjecting them to hateful propaganda and stress can we move forward and just have equality. We are human beings,” another said.
