Mega garage sale

IF YOU love a bargain, mark your calendars for December 31, the Cooktown Waste Transfer Station’s first monthly garage sale. The garage sales will be held on the last Sunday of every month behind the site office at the transfer station, and will be open to the public during regular Sunday dump hours. Baton heads our way

THE Queen’s Baton will arrive in Cooktown on Monday, March 5, 2018, on its way to the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. Residents can plan the best spot to cheer on the local baton bearers with details about the Cooktown community celebration and the baton route now available at gc2018.com/qbr. Australia Day Awards

NOMINATIONS are open for the Aurukun Shire Council 2018 Australia Day Awards. Nomination forms are available from council’s administration office at 39 Kang Kang Rd, Aurukun. Entries close on January 12 at 4pm. For more details visit aurukun.qld.gov.au
