Mini Me gets jump in box one

THE Robert Lound-trained Casey Mini Me just loves the inside run.

The newcomer to the Lound kennel, Casey Mini Me (pictured), claimed her second win in just her second start in the Far North on Friday night, both coming from the prized box one.

The former Brisbane-based greyhound is enjoying life in North Queensland, based at Townsville with Lound, and is undefeated in two trips further north.

Casey Mini Me got the early jump in the 410m event to beat Big Sav, also trained by Lound, in the finish.

“That is two box one starts in Cairns now for two wins,” a happy Lound said.

“She is going really well at the minute. So far she has only drawn the one box for me since I got her from down south.

“She was going OK down south, she got a couple of wins down in Brisbane and the whole litter she comes from goes well.”

It was Lound’s night at Cannon Park on Friday as the Townsville trainer claimed three of the five races on offer as Mr Canna and Lead Contender joined Casey Mini Me in the winners’ circle.

Lead Contender, also from box one, scored a striking 10length victory in the last race of the night over 410m.

“That was a big win,” Lound said.

Peter Milani and Emma Bryant also trained winners at Cannon Park on Friday night.

Racing returns to Cannon Park this Friday night while Townsville hosts a greyhound meet on Tuesday evening.
