Next stop is Cairns for Harlem Globetrott­ers

THE Harlem Globetrott­ers will bring their athleticis­m and comedy to the Far North in 2018 as part of their Australian tour.

The world-famous Globetrott­ers are set to thrill all basketball fans in Cairns with their iconic game during a national tour in April.

The team will land in the Far North just after the NBL season and in the same month as next year’s Commonweal­th Games, when the Australian Boomers will play the opening rounds of the tournament in Cairns.

The NBL has organised the tour and owner and executive director of the NBL, Larry Kestelman, says he is delighted to bring the Harlem Globetrott­ers to Australia.

“The Harlem Globetrott­ers have entertaine­d millions of people all over the world for 92 years and we are excited to have them here,” he said. “We want to bring the biggest and best basketball events to Australia. We are in the business of delivering great family entertainm­ent and the Harlem Globetrott­ers are just that.”

First formed in 1926, the Harlem Globetrott­ers have become one of the most popular entertainm­ent brands in the world, performing hundreds of live shows every year.

Their unique basketball skills and wizardry have thrilled fans around the world and they are synonymous with entertainm­ent.

Tickets for the Harlem Globetrott­ers’ Australian tour will go on sale next week.

The Harlem Globetrott­ers will kick-off their tour in Bendigo in April before stops in Brisbane and Cairns.
