Traditional honour

More than 100 people attended the opening of the area, which has been named ‘Chivarri’ and designed by local Wik-Waya Traditional Owners. Elder Tony Kerindun said ‘Chivarri’ was a shared word between many traditional groups and meant ‘ancient warrior’.
