Learning ropes is lots of fun
A CAIRNS theatre is giving youths a crash course in everything performance arts.
Cairns Dinner Theatre coowner Wes Evans described it as a “little taste of everything”.
Singing, acting, dancing, improvisation, make-up and hair, aerial silks, backstage work – Mr Evans said every day was different.
“It’s always good to see the excitement on someone’s face when they learn something for the first time,” he said.
Held over two weeks, there are two separate courses per week running Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm.
“At the end of the week they take everything they’ve learned and put a show together,” Mr Evans said.
While Mr Evans and his wife Brooke Archer-Evans helped a little, he said the show was produced by the students.
“It’s a talent show of all the different things they learned during the week,” he said.
