Upgrade remains work in progress
THE completion date for the $1.3 million revamp of the Fearnley St boat ramp has been pushed back to the end of February following delays due to safety concerns.
The Portsmith facility had been due to reopen in time for Christmas, adding an extra lane to the former four-lane ramp, a split-level floating walkway and a widened trailer turning area.
A Department of Transport and Main Roads spokesman said the ramp would remain closed until stabilisation work met strict safety requirements.
