Big spanish mackerel are being caught on the reefs off Port Douglas along with the wrecks and islands off Cairns. Plenty of cobia also. Giant trevally have smashed surface lures on the shallow

Daintree River reef bommies of areas like Sudbury and Oyster reefs. Coral trout have continued to bite but the nannygai were a little slower. Most of the river and estuary ystems, including the Cairns Inlet have been alive with prawns and mangrove jacks, estuary cod, trevally and released barramundi have all been active.
